Altijd al willen leren pottenbakken?
Bij NOMO Ceramics maak je pottenbakkers dromen waar! Onze cursus pottenbakken begeleidt je stap voor stap door het ambacht, of je nu helemaal nieuw bent of al wat ervaring hebt. Iedereen maakt stappen op zijn eigen tempo en leert van elkaar binnen onze gezellige groepen bestaande uit een mix van cursisten met al wat draai ervaring en beginners.

Dat is perfect!
Heb je nog nooit met een pottenbakkersschijf
gewerkt? Geen zorgen! We beginnen bij het begin: het kneden van klei,
het centreren op de schijf, het maken van een stevige bodem en het
optrekken van de wanden. Voor je het weet, ontstaan er prachtige vormen.
We starten met eenvoudige items zoals kopjes en schalen en bouwen
geleidelijk op naar complexere vormen. In het begin kan de klei
onvoorspelbaar lijken, maar met geduld en de juiste begeleiding krijg je
de techniek steeds beter onder de knie.
Gevorderd? Ook voor jou!
Als je al ervaring hebt en je vaardigheden wilt
verfijnen, bieden onze cursussen de perfecte gelegenheid om aan je eigen
projecten te werken met professionele begeleiding. Ontdek nieuwe
technieken die je creativiteit zullen stimuleren. Zo krijg je steeds
meer controle over de klei en ontdek je de uitgebreide mogelijkheden van
werken aan de pottenbakkersschijf.
Glazuren en decoreren
Tijdens deze cursus ga je verder dan alleen
draaien. Je duikt ook in het decoreren en glazuren van je keramiek,
waardoor je unieke en prachtige creaties kunt maken. Of je nu je
techniek wilt verfijnen of nieuwe creatieve hoogten wilt bereiken, bij
ons vind je de ondersteuning en inspiratie die je nodig hebt.

At NOMO Ceramics, firing your ceramic work is included in the course fee. Our staff carefully load and unload the kilns to ensure that your creations are fired safely and correctly. To promote quality and safety, participants are not permitted to load or unload the kilns themselves. Only the work created during the lessons may be submitted for firing.
For this course, you should bring your own tools. The instructor can advise you on this. It’s also helpful to bring an apron so your clothing doesn’t get dirty, as well as a tea towel or old hand towel. A starter set and apron can be purchased in the studio at the start of the course. New participants receive a lovely welcome gift at the start of the first lesson, consisting of: a NOMO apron, a starter set of tools, and your first loaf of beige throwing clay.
To ensure the quality of your pieces and the safety of our equipment, we ask all participants to purchase their clay and any glazes from our studio shop.
We offer a carefully selected assortment of high-quality materials. Our prices are comparable to those of a wholesaler, so you can be sure of getting good materials at fair prices.
It is therefore not permitted to bring clay from outside. We only work with ready-made glazes from the brand Mayco in the studio (a nice selection is available in our studio shop, and if you want something else, you may purchase it elsewhere as well). This is to minimize the risk of damage to our kilns and pieces. Different types of clay and glazes can cause unforeseen reactions during firing, which could lead to defects or even dangerous situations. By using our range of clay and the Mayco glazes, we can ensure good quality and a safe working environment for everyone.
